Artist Statement
I am drawn to subjects that tell a story.
My work explores the relationships between animals, people, and the places that become part of our memories. Whether depicting a beloved companion, a historic structure, a landscape, or a fleeting moment, I am interested in the stories that exist beneath the surface and the emotions that connect us to them.
Working across a variety of mediums, I allow the subject and story to guide my choice of paints, pens, or pencils. Some pieces are rooted in personal experiences, while others invite viewers to bring their own memories and interpretations to the work.
Animals often appear in my artwork because they represent companionship, loyalty, joy, and the lasting impact of shared experiences. Loose architecture, landscapes, and everyday scenes provide a sense of place and remind us that our surroundings become part of our personal histories.
Rather than simply recording what I see, I strive to create work that encourages reflection, connection, and conversation. My hope is that viewers find a piece of their own story within each painting.
